This past Friday, The Fish and I decided to see how many Full Throttle energy drinks we could polish off in one day. I drank one before I went out to Calmes Motorsports and I witnessed The Fish crack open his first when I left. Throughout the day I checked in and the energy kept rising. Then our traffic girl, Amy Evans, got in the mix. When I returned they had both drank two Full Throttles, so to catch up I downed another. I finished with two and The Fish had three, Amy e-mailed me later saying her limit was one and a half. Just a warning, Full Throttle is strong. Friday, I thought I could fly, see in the dark and maybe even run the L.A. Marathon without breaking a sweat. My body finally withdrew from Full Throttle on Sunday morning.
Sunday, I went to a crab and shrimp boil. Despite the shrimp being dead for hours, somehow one of them cut my index finger. It sucks when you get cut at a shrimp boil because the spices get into the cut. So I am walking around with a huge infected finger now. Oh well, I can take solace in that I ate the shrimp that cut me.
Last week I forgot to give a review of the new She Wants Revenge CD, “This is Forever”. I am a She Wants Revenge fan and I was not disappointed. If you like their first CD you will most likely enjoy the new disk. Several times, I had to stop and remind myself that I was listening to the new CD, and then at other times I could really hear where they had changed over that last year. The single “True Romance”, you hear on 104 the X, is dancy and infectious, “She Will Always be a Broken Girl” is basically “These Things, Part II”, and on the cut “Written in Blood” they really step out the mold and mix it up like never before using different beats and effects on Justin Warfield’s voice. Overall, it is a solid effort from those guys.
This weekend is Voodoo fest, but you will not see the 104 the X crew out on Friday because of work. Saturday, we should be there in the evening and might even hit up an after-party if all works in our favor then Sunday; we will be out in full effect. So if you see us come say hello and rock out because Voodoo fest only comes once a year.
