Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and I ate no turkey, but I did work. The following day, I had a remote out at Calmes Motorsports and most of the day I listened to people cuss out LSU’s football team. Sometimes I really think people believe that the team tries to lose just to ruin their lives. I am still proud of the guys because I remember the days when LSU used to win 2 or 3 games a year.
On Saturday, I attended an engagement party. My friend from high school is getting married later this year in Atlanta, so the party was kind of a celebration for those who could not make it. I got to the event a little late and unbeknownst to me, I walked into a room full of some of my old teachers. It was not the most comfortable situation but I did manage to secure a spot for The Fish and myself at career day next year at Redemptorist.
Sunday was a shopping day for me. After walking in the mall for two minutes, I realized that people do not look where they walk. I started counting how many times people just cut me off while I was walking but I lost count at 37. So to relax I rented two movies, “Crank” and “The Number 23”. If you like action you will probably like “Crank”, it is about a hit man who gets injected with some synthetic substance that will kill him if his adrenaline gets lower than a certain level so he must keep moving. I was stoked when I saw a cameo appearance in the movie by none other than Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington. He was a druggie hanging out in a drug store.
“The Number 23” was about a guy played by Jim Carey who is obsessed with the number 23. It is slow at first but builds at the end. I was also hyped when they used She Wants Revenge’s “Tear You Apart” in the movie. There needs to be more music in movies.
