Last weekend was Voodoo Fest in New Orleans. As I've mentioned before, I was most excited about seeing Porcupine Tree. Unfortunately, they played on Friday and I had some stuff to do at work back in BR, so I was unable to attend the show. I would like to thank the listener that called up and put the cell phone in the air allowing me to hear a little P-tree as they rocked out. I also saw a video of the performance at Voodoo's web site.
We did get a chance to experience Voodoo on Sunday. The weather was perfect and we saw The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Gym Class Heroes, Fall Out Boy, the Black Crowes, and a little bit of Mark Broussard and Common. Everything went smooth, we had a good time.
Monday night was the Mushroomhead show at Click's. Those guys were super intense and put on a fun show. It was a little weird to see them come on the stage at the end without their masks and costumes on. I figured they'd be concerned about keeping the "mystique" about them, but I guess not. haha..Unforunately, Baghead did not make to that show that night.
Halloween was also this past week, but I have to admit I didn't really do much for it. I did a live broadcast at Fred's in Tigerland, but I had some stuff to do back at the radio station so I couldn't live it up as much as I wanted. One thing I did notice about this year's Halloween is that the outfits on the ladies wasn't quite as skimpy and provacative as the last couple of years. Last year, I remember looking at my friends list on myspace and seeing just about EVERY girl on there having a picture of them in a sexy halloween costume as their profile pic. This year, not so much. Maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough? Just an observation..
Saturday night was the Evans Blue/The Vanished show at Click's. People were in a festive mood after the LSU game, so I think that contributed to the fun atmosphere that night.
This week we are making an announcement about the X-mas Bash. It's going to be bigger than ever, so make sure you listen in at 5PM.
