This blog will be a random assortment of thoughts from the past week...
-Sick Puppies put on a great show this past Monday at the Varsity Theatre. It was really cool to see a SOLD OUT show on a Monday night, and all the bands seemed really psyched up about it. Props to the Puppies, Saving Abel, Dropping Daylight, and YOU for coming out!
-X-Fest is just three weeks away and we have a big announcement coming up next week about some tickets. Maybe you've seen our commercial on Fox 44 or CW21? We did an interview with Tiger Weekly that should run next week about X-Fest...
-I've been listening to a lot of music lately. I've rediscovered Blind Melon Soup in anticipation of their show at the Varsity April 22. "Galaxie" is a good song! I listened to the new REM Accelerate disc...it lives up to the hype of being REM's most rocking CD in over a decade. Ashes Divide's debut CD just hit my player, I'll have full thoughts on that soon.
-I saw Michael Clayton and 21 over the past week. Michael Clayton was pretty good, I dunno about "Best Picture" of 2007 or anything but I liked it. 21 was one of those movies I enjoy watching while it's on, but once it's over I forget everything about it. The ending was kind of flat in my opinion. I just felt like it wrapped things up a little too neatly.
-Friday, April 11, Dan and I will be speakers at Career Day at Zachary High. We did it last year and had a lot of fun, so I'm looking forward to it.
-Next Saturday, I'm scheduled to DJ a wedding of Dan's former roommate. I have never DJ'ed a wedding before, and am not sure what to expect. I kind of just want to practice my outside DJ skills. I asked my former TV co-host Rider about it because he's done them before and he said "Dude, a wedding is not something you want to use as a practice." Umm
