I really cannot write about the crazy time I had this past Saturday at the LSU/Florida game because I did not even make it out there to tailgate, much less go to the game. I was working and doing other things. I did catch three of LSU’s offensive series and on all three of them they scored. I am figuring that if they do so well with me watching, Skip should let me watch the rest of the season’s home games from the luxury suites. We will see about that.
What I did do this week is watch the season finale and reunion show for “Rock of Love”. My prediction from the very first episode, that Jess would win, came true. Not a real shocker considering she was the only one who was young, attractive and not trashy, but then again trashy, old and nasty may be what Bret Michaels likes.
I also listened to Kid Rock’s new CD “Rock ‘N’ Roll Jesus” that will be in stores today. Rock said that it was going to be a more mature album for him. I was skeptical after hearing “So Hott”, the first single from the disk. I went into it with a predisposition that I would not like it, but Rock totally changed my mind. He really puts a different spin on this album. The title track sounds like it was recorded in church with a full gospel choir, in fact a lot of the album has gospel choir in it, but it is used well. Rocks really speaks his mind on the track “Amen” and captures the New Orleans sound and feel on his track “New Orleans”. Of course, he punks ex-wife Pamela Anderson on “Half Your Age”, and makes fun of himself on “Lowlife (Living the Highlife)”. There is only one rap rock song on the disk to prove he may be getting away from that sound. I have to say I went in not being a believer but now all I can say is that I want to hear more mature tracks from Robert Ritchie.
Today, She Wants Revenge’s new album “This is Forever” comes out in stores. I am a big fan and will hopefully be giving you a fair review next week.
