It was a busy but fun week around 104 the X. It started on Thursday, when The Fish and I visited Denham Springs High School and talked to several of Miss Blackledge’s and Mrs. Purvis’ classes. In class we talked about our careers and lives then fielded questions. By far the most popular question was to ask The Fish how tall he was. Midway through the day, we did the MC honors for their homecoming pep rally. The classes were into the talks but the entire school was really into the pep rally. It was extremely loud and crazy in their gym. We had a few microphone issues but for the most part it was great. If you want us to come talk to your school, group or organization all you have to do is ask, we would love to come.
After the long day on Thursday, I got up early on Friday and got ready for Calmes Motorsports. I was a little tired and out of it. Luckily, I just started pounding some Full Throttles and all was well.
Saturday, I got up early for work then afterwards hit up a sports bar with The Fish to watch the LSU game. Maybe it was all the Full Throttles that I drank or maybe it was something else that I drank, but after the game I was a little out of it. When I got home, my roommate and his girlfriend were playing some puzzle game on Play station and I watched. Eventually, I think they got freaked out and turned it off then we watched “American Beauty”, I later tried to watch a documentary about the Boston Red Sox but did not finish it.
The weekend did not end there. Sunday night, we rode out to the Korn concert in Biloxi. Korn was cool but between every song they played a two or three minute instrumental tune. It kind of messed up the flow of the show. Korn also did not play hits like “Make Me Bad” and “Got the Life”. In addition to that, there were about 50 people on stage, some were musicians with the band but others just looked like people who were drunk and taking in the show. The best part of the night was when we had taken a seat in a relatively sparsely crowded area. About 10 minutes later this guy and girl tell us that we are in our seats and will not sit in any of the 50 or 60 open seats around us. So we move one row up and for the rest of the show the guy, who is about 5’8”, 155 lbs., is all over the girl, who is about 5’3”, 170 lbs. PDA, you have got to love that.
