Bill Limmer, Weather in the afternoons

Bill comes to weather with the right attitude! "Nighttime thunderstorms bothered me back to as young as I can remember. Fear slowly gave way to curiosity!"

Obviously, his fear has abated since his favorite event is the severe weather outbreak that swept through the northeast on July 10, 1989, during which Bantam, Connecticut, was destroyed.

A native of Plymouth, Connecticut, Bill graduated with a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of California at Davis. He is also a graduate of the Columbia School of Broadcasting in Farmington, Connecticut. He was first heard as a radio talent for The Weather Channel Radio Network in November 1990 and has been heard on numerous radio stations nationwide ever since.

Before coming to The Weather Channel, Bill was a radio broadcast meteorologist for Weather Services Corporation in Lexington, Massachusetts, for five years, where he indulged in his areas of weather interest: thunderstorms, tropical storms, snow, and winter weather
